The most powerful thing the church does is worship. Every single week on the Lord’s Day, God Himself graciously gathers His people together, renewing His covenant with them and pouring out His grace upon them. Our aim in worship, then, is to exalt God. That also means our goal is not to entertain, but to see the glory of God through His Word, worship, and faithful fellowship.
What Does Worship Look Like?
Our services of worship are shaped by Scripture and follow the historic Reformed tradition. We gather to:
Pray Together – Bringing our praises and petitions before God (Philippians 4:6)
Read the Scriptures – Hearing God’s Word publicly read (1 Timothy 4:13)
Hear the Word Preached – Expository preaching that applies God’s truth to our lives (2 Timothy 4:2)
Sing Psalms & Hymns – Singing rich, theologically sound songs (Colossians 3:16)
Enjoy Communion – Remembering, celebrating, and feeding upon Christ’s sacrifice (1 Corinthians 11:23-26)
Therefore, when we gather for worship, our liturgy consists of:
God Calls Us – From the Scriptures, God calls us into His presence, and we respond with prayer and praise.
God Cleanses Us – After being called into God’s presence and confronted with His glory, we confess our sins together. In the gospel, God cleanses us, and we respond to such grace by responding with thanksgiving.
God Consecrates Us – Through instruction from the Word, God consecrates us, and we respond by humbly giving ourselves to Him.
God Communes With Us – We are then invited to commune with God at His Table and enjoy fellowship with Him.
God Commissions Us – After having been renewed and refreshed, we are commissioned to go out into the world and serve Him in our various callings.
The Lord’s Supper
We believe the Lord’s Supper is a means of grace. By the work of the Holy Spirit and through faith, Christians are spiritually nourished by Christ and all His benefits. Therefore, we observe the Lord’s Supper each Lord’s Day.
Children
We believe worship is for everyone, including children. We do not separate children from the worship service because we believe children benefit from worshipping with their families and the church. However, we understand young children may struggle to sit through service. That’s why we provide:
• A Mother’s Room – Equipped with audio and a view of the service, this provides mothers a quieter and more private space.
• A Nursery – Available for children up to the age of 3.
• A Welcoming Congregation – We expect some noise from the children and are happy to support parents in this season of training.
