Though Christianity is certainly personal, it is not private. Following Jesus is, by definition, a corporate experience. Our covenant is the commitment that we make to one another as fellow members of Redeeming Grace.
Our Members covenant:
- to walk together in Christian love (John 13:34-35; Ephesians 4:1-2);
- to be eager to maintain the unity of the church (John 17:20-23; Romans 15:5-7; Ephesians 4:1-6; Philippians 4:2-3);
- to care for and watch over one another (Galatians 6:1-2; Colossians 1:28; 1 Thessalonians 5:14);
- to share our burdens, sorrows, and joys with each other (Romans 12:9-21);
- to be slow to take offense, quick to forgive, and relentless in pursuing reconciliation (Matthew 18:15-35; Romans 12:18; Colossians 3:12-15; James 1:19);
- to be diligent in attending the Sunday worship gathering (Exodus 20:8-11; Acts 2:42-47; Hebrews 10:24-25);
- to contribute to the financial support of the church (1 Corinthians 9:8-14; Romans 12:13; Galatians 6:6; 1 Timothy 5:17-18; 1 John 3:17);
- to pray for the members of Redeeming Grace (Romans 12:12; 1 Thessalonians 5:17);
- to engage regularly in personal Bible reading and study (Deuteronomy 6:4-9; Psalm 1; 119; 2 Timothy 3:16-17);
- to bring up our children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Deuteronomy 6:4-9; Ephesians 6:4);
- to turn from all sin and to live God-honoring lives (Galatians 5:16-26; Ephesians 5:1-21; Titus 2:11-14);
- to be intentional in sharing the gospel with those around us (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; 1 Peter 2:9-10).
